Al-Malik is The King, the One who as part of His essential attribute is in no need of ANY thing, but everything is in need of Him. There is nothing that can disassociate itself from the need of God, whether it be in its existence, attributes, or continued sustenance and survival. God is independent of everything, Absolute. Man cannot be an absolute king – he is not independant of everything nor are most things in existence dependant upon him. According to Imam Al-Ghazali, man is a king among mankind. He is in need of noone, nor ruled by anyone, except God – great and glorious. Man’s kingdom is himself. He must rule over his blessings (physical traits, material blessings, etc.) and not be enslaved by them. By achieving this, he can obtain a higher state of sincere spirituality and have a positive impact on the environment around him.
Al-Quddus is The Holy. God -great and glorious- is free from any shortcomings, mistakes, etc. and is beyond our understanding of perfection. Our definition and understanding are limited in their very nature and therefore imperfect and inaccurate in an absolute sense. Everything God -great and glorious- created is holy as it comes from Him. In order for man to inculcate this attribute, he needs to be aware of God’s presence in everything and direct his knowledge, will, and actions while maintaining the conciousness of God. His knowledge should be with achieving the goals in the next life while seeing the signature of God in everything of this life. His will should be directed to conduct acts with the appropriate intentions of pleasing God-great and glorious.
Al-Mumin is The Security. Imam Al-Ghazali states it “is the one to whom security and safety are ascribed because He conveys the means to attain them and blocks the paths of dangers. For security and safety are only conceivable in locations of fear, and fear only arises with the possibility of annihilation or destruction. the absolutely faithful is God – may He be praised and exalted- as the one from whose direction alone security and safety may conceivably emanate. He explains, “A man’s share in this name and attribute lies in all creatures being safe from him. Moreover, every fearful person can anticipate help from him in keeping harm away from them, whether in religious or worldly affairs.” As the Messenger of God – may God’s blessings and peace be upon him- said: “When one believes in God and the last day, his neighbor is safe from his misdeeds.”
Al-Rahman is The MERCY, He is the total source of Mercy (His is Mercy) – what leads to Infinite Good. This is the primary and essential attribute of God (great and glorious is He). Imam Al-Ghazali states: The Infinite Good is He who loves men, first by creating them; second, by guiding them to faith and to means of salvation; third, by making them happy in the next world; and fourth, by granting them the contemplation of His noble face. Man’s responsibility, Imam Al-Ghazali explains, in the name al-Rahman lies in his showing mercy to the negligent, dissuading them from the path of negligence towards God, great and glorious is He, by exhortation and counseling, by way of gentleness not violence, regarding the disobedient with eyes of mercy and not contempt; letting every insubordination perpetrated in the world be as his own misfortune, so sparing no effort to eliminate it to the extent he can — all out of mercy to the disobedient lest they be exposed to God’s wrath and so deserve to be removed from proximity to Him.
In order for man and mankind to achieve this state, man needs to focus internally first on himself. Imam Al-Ghazali states, “Every servant whose heart is free from deceit, hatred, envy, and evil intent; and whose limbs are unblemished by sins and forbidden actions, and whose attributes are not affected by inversion and reversal, will be one who comes to God the most high with a flawless heart.” Not achieving this could lead to, “an inversion of his attributes I mean that his reason will be imprisoned by his passion and anger..”

The Islamic Society of Central Florida was established in 1973 by a few Muslim families in Orlando and the surrounding Central Florida area, intending initially to secure a place to pray together as a community. Little did this handful group of pioneers realize they were actually laying the foundation for the largest and most diverse community of Muslims in Central Florida. By the early 1980s, the families acquired property on Goldenrod Road with a small house on it. This house served as the first unofficial Masjid while a new building was in the initial stages of construction on the same property. With the blessings of God and the contributions of the humble and growing community, brick by brick the first official Masjid in Central Florida was eventually built around 1985. As the community started to grow and waited patiently for the new building to be constructed, the blessed shade of a large oak tree in front of the house served as additional space for the community to perform congregational prayers and Eid celebrations under. In 1995, as the Muslim community continued its growth in numbers and geography, the community decided for the Islamic Society to expand its services to other parts of the greater Orlando area by opening additional locations. The Masjid naming format was developed to have each location be named after the 99 beautiful attributes of Allah (swt). The Masjid on Goldenrod Road, the first official Masjid in Central Florida, was named Masjid Al-Rahman. By the year 2000, the Islamic Society of Central Florida had opened five additional Masjids throughout Central Florida, for a total of six Masjid locations. Visionary members of the ISCF community felt it was necessary to strengthen the foundation for the future of our community and founded the Muslim Academy of Central Florida (MACF) in 1993, later renamed Leaders Preparatory School (LPS). LPS focused on providing stellar education to the future generations of the community with an Islamic environment and foundation. These progressive leaders recognized the value of a good education as stressed by the first revelation revealed to our Beloved Prophet Muhammad. The LPS moved into a new building constructed in 2000, and elevated the full-time school as the first established accredited private Islamic School in Central Florida. After the tragic events of September 2001, the community-wide Da’wah efforts were organized into a new institution at ISCF known as the Center for Peace. The Center for Peace was established to provide outreach on a full-time basis about the Truth regarding Islam and Muslims. ISCF acquired property for a cemetery and named it Rawdat as-Salaam (Garden of Peace). This is the first Muslim only cemetery in the state of Florida, where we can ensure our community members’ final resting place adheres to the rights and respect a Muslim deserves.
The mission of Leaders Preparatory School (LPS) is to educate and prepare each student with faith, knowledge, wisdom, character, and life skills, using the best tools and methods as they exist in the Quran and traditions of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Al-Aziz is The All-Mighty. It signifies a rare existence for whom there is intense need as well as to whom access to may be challenging. A king is ”Aziz” (mighty and honorable): If he has all matters under his control, and if all of his subjects, young and old, venerable and disreputable, go to him for their affairs. In other words, the more needed you are, more Aziz (the mightier and more honorable) you are. If a true believer is badly needed, he is Aziz (mighty and honorable), nevertheless, he is modest.
It has become evident in our world that for any chance of hope for change and progress in our Muslim communities to take place and thrive, our focus needs to be on our youth. The common cliché that the children are our future is repeated throughout different societies, but do we really prepare our children for a better future? Teaching the children the values and principles that will safe guard them from the challenges and temptations they will face when you as a parent will not be around. With this commitment in mind, the Weekend Islamic Schools for Excellence (WISE) has been established with a unified curriculum across all ISCF weekend schools, consistent teacher training and more hands on student engagement. We look forward to having your child participate and having you invest in the future of our community with time and effort. Because together, anything is possible. REGISTER TODAY!

Al-Jabbar is The Restorer, or The Repairer! The One Who Can Restore What Is Broken to its full state. It reflects the Might of God in compelling things into being that may seem impossible. There is no limit to God’s possibility, for He is its Creator.
Al-Raheem is the one who bestows Mercy, the dispenser of Grace, upon those in need. The mercy of God is both perfect and inclusive. God – great and glorious – dispenses His Mercy upon all of His creation, whether they are deemed to deserve or not. Tradition states that God has commanded Himself to bestow multitudes of Mercy upon His creation even though we may deserve His wrath. According to Imam Al-Ghazali, man’s share in this attribute ‘lies in not turning away from any needy persons without meeting their needs to the extent of his ability, nor turning from any poor in his neighbourhood or town without committing himself to them and ridding them of their poverty – either from his own wealth or reputation, or by interceding on their behalf with another. And if he be unable to do all that, he should assist them by prayer or by showing grief on account of their need, in sympathy and love towards them, as though he were thereby sharing in their misfortune and their need.
Our Muslim Youth are AMAZING individuals, full of great energy, intelligence, and diversity. It is imperative for our youth to establish a connection with the great role models of the Holy Prophets and Pious individuals. The name of the youth group, Ibrahim and Mariamrepresents the great personalities in history of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) and Mariam (Mary the mother of Jesus) that we want our youth to look up to, for both boys and girls. God mentions both of these exemplary individuals in the Quran, with a chapter of their own, highlighting how each of these great individuals lived by always loving and being concious of God, specifically during their youth and adult life. We pray our youth can follow in the footsteps of these great individuals, Ibrahim & Mariam, and develop a bright future for our community and world.
