Masjid Al-Islam is the largest mosque in Rhode Island. Before its inception, most congregants attended Masjid Al-Karim. Due to the budding community, the masjid was created to provide conveience and new resources. Built in 1995, via local donations, particularly that of Dr. Muhammad Arif, who donated the land and a generous amount of monetary funds, Masjid Al-Islam welcomes Muslims of all backgrounds, as its adherents come from all over the world. Non-muslims, wishing to learn about the religion or provide communal support, are more than welcome to come in as well. Assalamu' Alaikum means may peace be upon you. Islam means submission.
